We work directly with universities to encourage and support classes and programs in structural steel design and construction. Our primary focus is on faculty and students.
Please see information below relating to the new sidebar for the university relations sector of the website.
Adopt-A-School
The Adopt-A-School program matches fabricators with universities to promote the use of steel to future engineers.
Faculty Workshops
AISC introduces and promotes many teaching aid thru workshops.

Student Steel Bridge Competition
This prestigious inter-collegiate competition requires civil engineering students to design, fabricate, and construct a steel bridge.
Student Design Competition
This design competition is intended to challenge architectural students, working individually or in teams, to explore a variety of issues related to the use of steel in design and construction.
Additional steel-related competition
CIDECT Design Competition
This award is presented at the International Symposium on Tubular Structures (ISTS) for work in the field of tubular structures.
Teaching Aids
AISC provides many steel teaching aids useful for architectural, engineering, and construction management courses.
The AISC steel teaching aids have been developed to assist universities in preparing students to become professionals knowledgeable in the use of structural steel. Educators, students, and others within the academic engineering community have the permission of AISC to download the steel teaching aids below, free of charge.
Web Enhanced Teaching Forum (WET)
This is a forum where steel educators can find tips and share information pertaining to teaching steel.
