The American Institute of Steel Construction hosts a very special SteelDay event in Chicago's famous Millennium Park.

The event is a unique interactive networking and learning opportunity surrounded by magnificent architecture. A complimentary boxed lunch* will be served and guests will be able to listen to a very special presentation about structural steel, sustainability and Chicago before exploring several 'Education Stations' and mingling with peers, colleagues, customers, suppliers and of course, AISC staff.

Structural steel's contribution to the architecture and economy of the City of Chicago has been long recognized. The soaring designs of architects and structural engineers highlight the strength, economy and architectural elegance of steel while defining the Chicago skyline. Even more significant is the contribution that structural steel is quietly making in the movement toward sustainable, green construction. This special SteelDay presentation is your opportunity to discover more about how structural steel contributes to Chicago's sustainable future.

Manned by qualified AISC staff this station provides specific Q&A support for our headline presentation while at the same time offering an insight and education about the sustainability of structural steel throughout it's lifecycle.

Millennium Park is home to many unique steel structures and we'll have people on hand who were involved in the fabrication and installation of many of those projects. Attendees to this station will learn about how the structures were fabricated, what tolerances and unique characteristics each had and some of the background to each structure.

A guided tour of some of these structures will be available during the event and a self-guided walking tour pamphlet will also be provided.
