Successes in Steel
I started my AISC employment as Regional Engineer in the Upper Midwest Region. I was proud to have worked with some professional fabricators in the region. I worked closely with several fabricator assosiactions and encouraged them to get involved, develop websites, host breakfast meetings, and market steel to the decision makers. Together we were successful in increasing market share in the region. In August 2006 I accepted the challenge of being the Southeast Regional Engineer. It was the largest region with about 24% of the construction market and a below the national average market share for steel. With the help of fabricators and other steel industry associates we have been successful in increasing the market share in the Southeast Region by about 8 points. 2006 also saw the launching of the Florida Initiative. Along with Walt Primer, Area Marketing Representative, it has been very rewarding working with steel professionals to influence projects toward steel in a “concrete friendly” environment. We have been successful increasing the market share in Florida by 7 points. |
