Bridge Design for the Classroom

Speakers:  Dennis Mertz, University of Delaware
                     Karl Frank, Hirschfeld Industries
                     Bill McEleney, National Steel Bridge Alliance

Learn basic bridge design concepts that you can incorporate into your structural steel design classes. Lectures will be presented on the following three useful topics:

• Bridge Plate Girder Design by the Numbers–Dennis Mertz, University of Delaware
• Bridge Design for Economy of Construction–Karl Frank, Hirschfeld Industries–Bridge (University of Texas, retired)
• Bridge Design for Aesthetics–Bill McEleney, National Steel Bridge Alliance
