The AISC Future Leaders Ideas Lab is designed for fabricators who have either recently moved into or anticipate moving into a senior management position during the next few years. Attendees will learn leadership tools specific to the fabrication industry—but more importantly, will have the opportunity to discuss issues with their peers in a non-competitive setting.

Continuing the Lab's tradition of providing useful information to up-and-coming leaders in the fabrication industry, this year's sessions will include information on critical legal issues (with a focus on contracts) as well as new developments in fabrication software.

Highlighting this year's Lab is Stuart Diamond, one of the world's leading negotiation instructors. Whether teaching at Wharton, working with politicians in Russia, or advising business leaders in America, Diamond is the go-to expert on how to negotiate to achieve your goals in the real world. And because of the importance of the subject, we're also bringing in David Rabiner to discuss "The Art and Technique of Negotiating: The Simple Strategies Every Great Negotiator Knows."

New this year is an exciting session where attendees will meet in small groups with experienced industry leaders to explore real life case studies and gain insight into critical management issues and how to deal with them.

A continuing theme is a focus on leadership. This year we're fortunate to have Craig Freshley, an expert on "Good Group Decisions" and how leaders leverage the people around them to make better, more powerful, decisions.

Networking is one of the key components that has made The Future Leaders Ideas Lab such a popular event and keeps our attendees coming back year after year. "The Future Leaders Idea's Lab provides an informative environment while promoting networking among the attendees. Through the presentation and mixer events, you will acquire tools and friendships that will assist you on becoming a successful leader. I look forward to attending the next FLIL event and would encourage anyone new to upper management to attend" said with Ryan DonCarlos Atlas Iron Works. And back by popular demand is our dynamic Speed Networking Session, which is designed to introduce you to at least five of your peers!

While the program formally begins at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 20 with a luncheon speaker, all attendees are invited to attend a bonus workshop "The Nuts and Bolts of Leadership Today" held by Thursday's Keynote Speaker David Rabiner. This program will lay out the obstacles that keep people from leading effectively and teach how to change daily behaviors and polish leadership skills. Attendees will not only walk away with the foundations for leadership plans, but will know at the behavioral level what to start doing, stop doing, or just do differently.

In addition, AISC is providing and additional networking reception for those that arrive on Wednesday evening.
