Why specify an AISC Certified company?
For more than 75 years, AISC has set the standard by which the steel industry is measured. An AISC Certified company has been placed through a rigorous examination to confirm that it has the personnel, organization, experience, procedures, knowledge, equipment, capability and commitment to produce work of the required quality.
Both the internal and external reviews can improve production practices and product quality at a facility. AISC uses people experienced in fabrication and trained as auditors to bring a hands-on approach to the certification process. By reviewing records, interviewing personnel and observing practices and equipment in the shop, independent auditors are able to confidently confirm that AISC's standards are in place. After a company is AISC Certified, an annual review process ensures confirmation of continuing commitment to quality systems; offers companies the opportunity for improvement; and helps communicate the latest quality issues.
Specifying a certified company:
- Improves quality of partners in the building team
- Enhances the chance for a positive working relationship on projects you are designing
Your success is contingent on the design, but also on the execution of the design. Make sure you have qualified professionals on your team.
