Why Join AISC?
The American Institute of Steel Construction is the premier organization for everyone involved in the design and construction of fabricated structural steel buildings and bridges. While we are best known for the development of the Specification for Steel Buildings and the Manual of Steel Construction, AISC's activities range from meeting with owners and architects to explain the advantages of structural steel to a wide range of university programs that influence future engineers, architects, and construction managers.
- AISC helps to grow the market for structural steel buildings
- AISC members receive discounts on publications and seminars
- AISC members have access to more than 15,000 pages of online technical material

Gary Stein, Triple-S Steel Supply: "We didn't join AISC for simply commercial reasons. We joined because we believe in the mission of the organization and we want to see more steel used in all facets of construction."
Holly Noveletsky, Novel Iron Works: "We wanted to be part of the organization that shapes and directs our industry. We do not want to be on the sidelines watching our industry be shaped and manipulated by outside forces with no input to our future directions."
AISC is dedicated to making structural steel the material of choice for the design community and construction industry. Established in 1921 to serve the structural steel industry in the U.S., we are a non-profit association working to promote the use of structural steel through research activities, market development, education, development of codes and specifications, technical assistance, quality certification and standardization. AISC represents the total experience, judgment and strength of the entire domestic industry of steel fabricators, distributors and producers. The scope and success of its activities could not be achieved by any one member of the industry. The nation shares the rewards of our activities – through better, safer and more economical buildings, bridges and other structures framed in structural steel.
