James O. Malley Wins Best EJ Paper of 2007 Award

The winner of the Best EJ Paper of 2007 competition is James O. Malley for his paper, “The 2005 AISC Seismic Provisions for Structural Steel Buildings,” which was published in the first quarter 2007 issue of the AISC Engineering Journal. This paper was selected from the list of papers published in that Journal during 2007. Readers had the opportunity to send in their preferences by completing a survey posted on the AISC web site early this year. The winning author was offered complimentary registration to the 2008 NASCC: The Steel Conference, held in Nashville, Tennessee, April 2-5, 2008, as well as travel expense reimbursement. The award was presented during the Conference.
Be sure to participate in selecting the 2008 Best EJ Paper. A press release will be posted on the AISC web site when the survey is available. Voters are eligible for a drawing to receive complimentary registration to the NASCC, including travel reimbursement. This year, Manuel Perez employed by the City of Los Angeles was the lucky recipient of this prize.
