AISC Offers New Toll-Free Access to Technical Assistance, Conceptual Solutions, and Steel Tools

CHICAGO—Specifiers can now contact the AISC Steel Solutions Center by calling toll-free to 866-ask-aisc (275-2472). The Steel Solutions Center offers an immediate source for the most complete, up-to-date information on the use of structural steel. Engineers, architects, contractors, and developers also can email [email protected] or visit AISC’s website at www.aisc.org.

The Steel Solutions Center’s staff has access to a wide variety of technical information and project data to help on any structural steel issue. Additionally, they can quickly obtain information from other technical associations, members of AISC’s technical committees, and other leading industry experts. “Our goal is to provide an answer as quickly as possible, usually within one business day,” explained Roberta Marstellar, P.E., the Center’s Director.

The Steel Solutions Center includes:

    • Technical Assistance—From bolting to fire protection engineering, the staff of the Steel Solutions Center has the answers to your questions. The Center fields more than 200 calls per week from designers, contractors, and developers.
    • Conceptual Solutions—Whether you’re designing a parking structure or an office building, the Steel Solutions Center offers services ranging from bay studies to cost and scheduling estimates to a comprehensive framing analysis.
    • Steel Tools—The Steel Solutions Center offers valuable spreadsheets and handy reference sheets that make designing in structural steel easier than ever before.
