Garrell Joins Steel Bridge Group as Regional Director

Former Bridge Designer Serves NSBA’s Southeast Region
(Chicago, IL) – The American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) is proud to welcome Christopher Garrell, P.E., LEED AP as Southeast Regional Director of the National Steel Bridge Alliance (NSBA). In this position, Garrell is responsible for maintaining regular contact with Departments of Transportation, bridge design consultants, and others responsible for bridge design and construction.
Additional responsibilities include providing ongoing technical and project support for steel bridge design and construction and conducting steel bridge design and construction related regional seminars and conferences.
Garrell was most recently Product Manager for Structural Engineering at Bentley Systems Incorporated in Exton, Pa. In this position, he was responsible for strategic market planning, product launches, product positioning, competitive analysis, presentations and marketing material for structural BIM. He has worked as a technical support analysis, software engineer and software development lead prior to that position. Before joining Bentley, he was a Bridge Engineer at STV, Incorporated in Douglassville, Pa..

Garrell earned a Master of Engineering, Systems Engineering and a Master of Software Engineering, Software Engineering, both from Pennsylvania State University. He also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the State University of New York at Fredonia.
