Second Public Review of the 2011 AISC Nuclear Specification [INACTIVE]

September 2, 2011 from American Institute of Steel Construction

(Chicago, IL) - The 2011 AISC Specification for Safety-Related Steel Structures for Nuclear Facilities (AISC N690) is now available for public review. This second public review only includes the revisions indentified in the draft specification provided. An update of the 2006 version of this document (ANSI/AISC N690-06), this version of the AISC Nuclear Specification uses the 2010 AISC Specification for Structural Steel Buildings as a baseline document and modifies specific portions of the Specification to make it applicable to the design, fabrication and erection of safety-related steel structures for nuclear facilities.

Comments are welcome on only the revisions indentified in the draft in this second public review. A hard copy of both the Specification for Safety-Related Steel Structures for Nuclear Facilities and Commentary can also be requested, for a nominal fee of $15, by calling 312.670.5411 or by e-mailing [email protected]. Please submit your comments electronically to [email protected] using the attached form, or mail to Cynthia Duncan, AISC, Suite 700, 1 East Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL 60601 by October 17, 2011.
