  • 2:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.:  Cost-effective solutions for short-span steel bridges (Dave Clemens of Wheeler Bridge)  

Day 2: October 27, 2020

  • 12:00 p.m.– 1:30 p.m.:  Steel bridge erection and constructability (Dave Rogowski of Genesis)
  • 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.:  Advances in evaluating and treating redundancy in steel bridge members traditionally viewed as fracture-critical, including examples of bridge design that eliminated FC members to realize cost savings, and pack-rust research findings (Rob Connor of Purdue University)

Day 3: October 28, 2020

  • 12:00 p.m.– 1:00 p.m.:  Skewed bridge design and steel girder fit considerations for the designer (Mike Grubb)
  • 1:00 p.m.– 2:00 p.m.:  Steel bridge fabrication process and resolving common issues (Kevin Bird of Veritas and Pat Loftus of Industrial Steel Construction) 
  • 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.:  Bolting for bridges, AASHTO updates, review of bolting methods (Chad Larson of LeJeune Bolt)
