Perry Green has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science, New York, NY (1977), and Master of Science (1979) and Doctorate (2001) degrees in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA. Between his Master’s and Doctoral degrees he was a Structural Engineer and Engineering Manager for the A/E firm Burns & Roe, Inc., Oradell, NJ where he was involved with the design and construction of new nuclear power plants and the evaluation and modification of existing nuclear power plants including Clinch River LMFBR, Hanford 2, Clinton Power Station, Cooper Nuclear Station,Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, and Savannah River Site. Prior to joining the Bechtel Corporation in September 2011 he was a Consultant for the steel industry, the Technical Director of the Steel Joist Institute from 2004 to 2010, and an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL from 1998 to 2004. Dr. Green has been a member of the Structural Stability Research Council since 1994 and currently serves as a member of the SSRC Executive Committee. He is a member of the AISI Cold-Formed Steel Main Committee on Specifications, and Chair of Subcommittee 3 – Connections. He is also an Associate Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and Member of the ASCE Structural Members Committee.
