Where We Ship

United States (all 50 states and D.C.)
Northern Mariana Islands
U.S. Virgin Islands
Federated States of Micronesia
AA, Armed Forces (the) Americas, Europe and the Pacific
Outside of North America
AISC does not ship outside North America because of our access to limited (and expensive) international shipping options as well as difficulties servicing international customers with delivery issues.
These resellers and others, such as Amazon, sell AISC publications at non-member prices and can usually ship internationally:
Another option for international customers is to investigate U.S.-based parcel forwarding services that provide a U.S. address from which your parcels are forwarded to your home country. Here is a useful blog post about the concept.
AISC does not recommend or endorse any third-party reseller or parcel forwarding services and is not liable for any issues that arise from your use of a third-party entity.
Limited expedited shipping options are available for orders placed by telephone Monday through Friday before 11:00 a.m. E.T.
Orders that are returned due to incorrect or incomplete shipping addresses, orders that are refused upon delivery (including orders refused due to non-payment of customs fees), or orders that are returned because of failed delivery attempts will not be refunded upon their return to AISC.
AISC offers a generous 50% discount off the price of its publications to its members, subject to the limitations outlined below.
General Member Quantity Limits
Individuals covered by an AISC membership are limited to purchasing two (2) of any single publication at the discounted member price for personal use. Additional items purchased for personal use must be purchased at the full price.
Firm/Company Quantity Limits
Purchases at member prices for firms are governed by the firm's membership category and and the number of members at the firm. In general, firms may purchase up to two (2) copies of each AISC publication for every one (1) member at their firm. Full and Associate membership categories are not subject to quantity limits. To purchase more than two copies of a publication, send your request via email to email@example.com. Our membership department will verify quantity limits and pricing and provide you with a quote.
Violations of Quantity Limits
Individual violations of AISC's per-person member price quantity limits will result in the automatic cancellation and recall of the order(s). Any refund(s) due will be reduced in the amount of $50 per order or the cost of retrieving the order(s), whichever is greater. Repeated violations may result in termination of membership privileges or notification of improper conduct to the firm's primary membership contact.
Full and Associate Members Only – Bulk Discounts
Bulk discounts apply to the Steel Construction Manual, Detailing for Steel Construction, and the Seismic Manual only. Bulk discounts are available only to Full and Associate member categories. Other member categories (such as Professional) are not eligible.

Even with today's technology and modern quality checks, errors occasionally occur in the printing of our publications. We apologize in advance if your publication was affected.
What to Look For
Because of the quanity of manuals printed, its thickness, and its unique thin paper, a handful of defective manuals may elude our standard quality checks. Here are the most common issues we've encountered over the years.
Ink problems: Occasionally a copy will be missing a portion of the blue, green or black ink on several pages that are fairly closely spaced. If you notice an issue, check the entire table.
Missing pages: Also rare, missing pages (or duplicate pages) occur in large blocks of 16, 32, or 64 pages—the building blocks of the manual—when the binding machinery either misses a signature or grabs two of the same one.
Stuck pages: If the corner of a page is bent prior to the the trimming process, the end result can be something of a practical joke, like the greeting card that cannot be opened because all edges are sealed. Sometimes it's just a matter of gently slitting apart a few pages at the corner. This is usually obvious by looking for discontinuities along the edges of the closed book.
Wonky thumb cuts: It may be the 21st century, but those handy thumb cuts are still cut into the book by hand and those black labels are applied by hand, just like they were in 1924 for the very first manual. Occasionally the labels are misplaced or crooked or have other issues. These are usually obvious by looking along the edge of the closed book.
What to Do
If your publication is defective and you have purchased the publication within the past year, email firstname.lastname@example.org with a photograph of the defect along with your order details. Depending on the situation, we will arrange to have a replacement publication sent to you along with a return label for the defective one. We can only replace defective publications with the same edition, and we can only do so if we still have copies in inventory.
The Student Manual Discount Program is managed by AISC University Programs. Professors, learn more here. Students, all of the information needed to participate in this program is available from participating steel instructors.
The cost of shipping is included in the publication prices for the Student Manual Discount Program. However, applicable state sales taxes will apply.

Unused manuals in resaleable condition (no marks, no visible wear and tear) may be returned within 30 days of the original purchase for a full refund or exchange, less a $35 allowance for the original shipping and handling charges.
Manuals purchased through the Student Manual Discount Program are not returnable after 30 days from the original purchase.
Cancelled orders are subject to a $15 cancellation fee if the order has not been collected by the shipper. Orders that are cancelled while in transit are subject to a $25 cancellation fee.
Orders that are returned due to incorrect or incomplete shipping addresses will be automatically processed as returns, subject to a $70 non-refundable fee for the original delivery and the return.
Violations of Quantity Limits
No student may purchase more than one copy of any publication through the Student Manual Discount Program. Violations of the quantity limit will result in the automatic cancellation and recall of your order(s). Any refund(s) due will reflect a non-refundable fee of $50 per order. Repeated violations will result in the notification the student's professor and/or the educational institution.
