AISC 358 Prequalified Connections [N11]

The AISC Seismic Provisions for Structural Steel Buildings, AISC 341-10, require that all moment connections for intermediate and special moment frames be prequalified or be qualified by testing. The prequalification process for connections is overseen by AISC's Connection Prequalification Review Panel (CPRP), which has approved a number of moment connections in the standard Prequalified Connections for Special and Intermediate Steel Moment Frames for Seismic Applications, AISC 358-10. This session presents an overview of connection prequalification and an introduction to the available prequalified connections.
