Field Repairs to Extend the Service Life of Steel Bridges [B12]

The AASHTO/NSBA Collaboration Task Group on Field Repairs of Existing Bridges is currently developing a guide for the most common repairs for steel bridges including topics like section loss, impacts, beam end damage due to leaking joints, fatigue cracking, and constraint-induced fracture. This presentation will give an overview of what is planned for the guides, discussing several repair approaches to extend the service life of steel bridges.
