This session will summarize findings from recent research on steel plate shear walls. There will be three areas of focus: 1) a new understanding of web plate tension field action and its practical implications, 2) the development of a new steel plate shear system that features post-earthquake re-centering capabilities, and 3) development of recommendations for the design of coupled steel plate shear walls.
