Risk management is often discussed, but how well are firms really managing risk? In the past few years, design and construction professionals have been faced with a huge increase in projects, increasing construction costs, and a shortage of personnel to do the work. The current challenge is that projects have been put on hold; design firms faced with decreasing revenues have even had to lay off lower-end staff.

The pressures of staff changes, time pressures, and economic factors make it hard for firms to stay consistent with their risk management programs. We'll discuss the various items that should be in a design firm's risk management plan.
