Seismic Moment Frame Design [SC1]

In order to design efficient steel moment frames, it requires an understanding of how to appropriately apply code requirements as well as an understanding of the connection behavior under seismic loads. This session will review the key moment frame requirements from AISC 341, and discuss general design requirements before addressing the key requirements of AISC 358, the Connection Prequalification Standard. Strategies for designing efficient moment frames and connections will be discussed as well as quality control and quality assurance requirements for moment connections.
