Three-Dimensional Finite Element Analysis Software for Straight or Curved Steel Bridges During Construction [B13]

The computer program UT Bridge allows an engineer to quickly create a three-dimensional model of a bridge system that can be used by the contractor or engineer to evaluate the behavior of a given erection scheme, including the need for shore towers or temporary holding cranes. A new version of the software will be released early in the Fall of 2016, with significant updates to the pre-processor, solver, and post-processor options. New features of the software include the ability to model tapered members, dapped ends, different types of cross-frames, lean-on bracing, lateral flange bracing, and many other aspects. This session will provide an overview of the software capabilities as well as a demonstration of the software on specific problems.
