SME to Reopen Idaho Plant

SME Steel (an AISC Member and AISC Certified Fabricator) is reopening its Pocatello, Idaho, plant.

The Idaho State Journal reports that SME, which closed its Pocatello plant in May 2013, is growing and needs to reopen the plant to meet new business opportunities brought on by the expanding economy. The company will hire 140 workers including welders, fitters and drill press operators.

According to the Idaho Department of Labor, there are an additional 60 other job openings from other employers related to advanced manufacturing listed with the agency’s Pocatello office.
