SJI to Present Lessons Learned Webinar August 19

The Steel Joist Institute (SJI) is hosting a webinar next Wednesday, August 19 on “Lessons Learned: Do’s and Don’ts,” from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. (EDT). The webinar will draw from decades of practical experience in the specification and design of open web steel joists and joist girders.

Participants will learn best practices to specify loads, deflections, geometry and bridging, as well as details for common and uncommon usages of open web steel products. They’ll also gain an understanding of how to improve structural drawings from the open web joist perspective, resulting in fewer RFI’s and minimal interruptions. Additionally, the speakers will provide and demonstrate several examples of the proper protocols and methods to deliver information on contract drawings and specifications, as well as discuss the 44th Edition of the SJI Standard Specifications, which were recently adopted.

Individual and site registration for the webinar is available at www.steeljoist.org/augwebinar. Individual registration cost is $75.00 and each person who registers will receive his or her own link to the webinar and earn 0.15 CEUs or 1.5 PDHs. Site registration also is available for $300.00, allowing multiple attendees from the same company to utilize one link to the webinar.
