Four bridge projects (all of them steel) recently received awards from the Accelerated Bridge Construction–University Transportation Center (ABC-UTC) in recognition of design innovation and performance excellence.

ABC-UTC presented the awards at the 2014 National Accelerated Bridge Construction Conference in Miami in December. The conference convenes participants at all levels of government to continue on-going discussion in many areas of accelerated bridge construction. The ABC Conference Awards program highlights and recognizes talented individuals and innovative projects advancing the ABC initiative. Intrinsic benefits of ABC include improvements in safety, quality, durability, social costs and environmental impacts.
