The Steel Joist Institute (SJI) is hosting a webinar on “Joist Models in Standard Structural Software Packages” next Thursday, September 24, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (ET). Intended for structural engineers, fabricators, detailers and connection design firms, the webinar will cover the options available for modeling open web steel joists and joist girders using structural design software packages.
Attendees will learn what virtual joists and virtual joist girders are and how each should be specified on the contract structural drawings. In addition, the speakers will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using classic tools in order to select conventional standard joists and joist girder designations. The webinar will conclude with a question and answer session, including audience participation.
