American Punch Company (an AISC member) announced it has begun construction on a major plant expansion that will nearly double the size of its production facility, located in Euclid, Ohio, and significantly increase its manufacturing capabilities. The new addition to the existing facility will add 23,000 sq. ft of plant space and 1,000 sq. ft of office space. Two 80-ton air conditioning units are being installed to cool both the new addition as well as the existing plant.

To sustain their environmental efforts, the company has opted to install 800 solar panels on the roof of the new building that, over the next 25 years, will produce over 7 million kilowatts of electricity. This will result in reducing their CO2 emissions by over 11 million pounds, equal to taking about 65 cars off the road for each of the next 25 years.

“We’ve worked for several years to design and plan this building and the additional new equipment to meet our manufacturing demands well into the future,” said Bob Olson, president of American Punch. “We will be positioned to meet our customers’ increasing need for high quality tooling, delivered sooner, particularly precision tooling and engineered, made-to-order components. With all of the new cutting-edge technology in today’s equipment that will be housed in the new addition, we’ll have a world-class operation ready to manufacture any tooling our customers may need.”
