The Steel Tube Institute (STI) is hosting the webinar “Fire Protection of HSS” this Thursday, July 13, from 11 a.m. to noon (CT).
Topics will include:
- What are the effects of fire on steel in general and at what temperature is a hollow structural section (HSS) affected?
- What is the required resistance time and what are the methods that can be used to achieve this?
- What are the equations needed to calculate the fire resistance of an HSS?
- How concrete-filled HSS can provide an aesthetically pleasing answer to HSS fire resistance and how this resistance can be calculated.
