The Steel Joist Institute (SJI) is hosting a new webinar, “Composite Joist – New 2nd Edition Specifications, New Technical Digest No. 13.” on Wednesday, July 19 from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. ET, followed by a 15-minute question and answer session.
Composite steel construction has been recognized for a number of years as one of the most economical systems for building floors. It has been shown that composite steel joists deliver an economical shallow floor system with reduced floor-to-floor heights by providing easy routing of HVAC ducts, plumbing and electrical conduits through the steel joist open web system. This webinar will focus on information contained within SJI’s soon-to-be published Technical Digest 13: Composite Steel Joists.
Learning objectives include potential benefits of using SJI’s CJ-Series composite joists in floor construction, computational aspects of composite steel joist behavior, how to efficiently utilize SJI’s Composite Steel Joist Catalog, and guidelines for installing welded shear studs onto the chords of CJ-Series joists and serviceability aspects of composite steel joists.
