Houston SteelDay Event Featured in Video

The impact of SteelDay is highlighted in a video by Alex Morales, AISC structural steel specialist (Houston Market). This one-minute video showcases a SteelDay event at King Fabrication, LLC, Houston (an AISC member and certified fabricator), which brought in around 80 guests to see firsthand the work and experience a steel fabricator brings to building and bridge projects.

The event featured live fabrication demonstrations, a special viewing of a film on the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge and a networking lunch. It was one of dozens of SteelDay events held around the country this fall, hosted by AISC and its members and partners, offering opportunities for AEC professionals, students and others to gain insight into the dynamic U.S. structural steel industry through participating in facility open houses, project site tours and webinars.

King Fabrication’s event took place on October 26; it was originally planned to be held on SteelDay “Eve” (September 14) but was postponed due to Hurricane Harvey. This was King Fabrication’s first time hosting a SteelDay event, and they’re planning to host again next year. Speaking of which, next year’s SteelDay will take place Friday, September 28.
