Lincoln Electric Acquires Inovatech Engineering Corporation

Lincoln Electric announced that it has acquired Inovatech Engineering Corporation, a maker of advanced robotic plasma cutting solutions for structural steel applications, and related assets.

Lincoln, which develops and manufactures arc welding and plasma and oxyfuel cutting equipment as well as robotic welding systems, is happy to welcome Inovatech into its automation portfolio, noted Christopher L. Mapes, Lincoln's chairman, president and CEO. "The addition scales our automated cutting solutions and application expertise for structural steel applications and supports long-term growth in that market," he said.

Lincoln Electric has had a strong presence within AISC. Duane Miller, the company's manager of engineering services and an authority on welded connections, has been the recipient of many honors from AISC, including the Robert P. Stupp Award for Leadership Excellence, and is a frequent speaker at NASCC: The Steel Conference. Speaking of which, the 2019 show takes place April 3-5 in St. Louis, and registration opens January 2.
