Michel Bruneau, Ph.D., a leading expert on earthquake-resistant design and retrofit of steel buildings and bridges, has been named a SUNY Distinguished Professor, the highest faculty rank in the State University of New York (SUNY) system. A professor in the University at Buffalo's Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering, and a past AISC T.R. Higgins award winner, Bruneau was named a distinguished professor in recognition of his international prominence and distinguished reputation within the field of civil engineering.
