AISC is hosting a 90-minute webinar, “Unmasking the Ductility Factor, Shear Rupture, and Element Capacity in Welded Connections,” on Wednesday, January 24, beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET.
This webinar will provide guidance on some of the more challenging considerations that should made while in the process of designing welds and welded connections, specifically: When should the ductility factor be applied to a weld; is the load path from the weld to the connecting element(s) unclear in regard to shear rupture checks; and should a weld be sized to develop the strength of a connecting plate. The presentation will give background on the development of these design considerations and discuss the application of these limit state checks.
Registrants are eligible to receive 1.5 PDHs upon completion of the webinar. For more information, go to www.aisc.org/webinars.
