Feast your eyes on this year's IDEAS2 Award winners in the May issue of Modern Steel Construction. These structural steel stunners include a jaw-dropping public transit station at Ground Zero in Lower Manhattan, a historic-power-plant-turned-office-building in Toledo, a thin office tower with an even thinner base on a small parcel of land in Chicago and projects involving three NFL stadiums.

AISC’s annual architecture and engineering awards recognize projects in three cost tiers where structural steel has been utilized in an innovative manner whether that’s the accomplishment of the structure’s program; the expression of architectural intent; the application of innovative design approaches; or the utilization of productivity enhancing construction methods. To be eligible, the project must be wide-flange or hollow or structural steel sections (HSS).
