International Code Council Celebrates Building Safety Month

The month of May is Building Safety Month (BSM), hosted by the International Code Council (ICC). The public awareness campaign, recognized by professional associations, government agencies and nonprofits worldwide, aims to educate communities on creating safe and sustainable structure.

For the past 38 years, the movement has bolstered the importance of “modern, regularly-updated building codes, a strong and efficient system of code enforcement and a well-trained, professional workforce to maintain the system,” according to ICC.

Celebratory events include a conference, Twitter chat, receptions, open houses and more.
