AISC to Host Virtual Fabricator Roundtables May 20 and 21

AISC is offering a series of virtual fabricator roundtables to give full members across the country an opportunity to network and learn from each other in a small group setting. These will be very similar to the roundtables at NASCC: The Steel Conference--a safe place for you to discuss the challenges the industry faces and solutions you've tried in a small group of people in very similar situations. There is no cost to register for these events and the roundtable discussions will take place via a Zoom Meeting.

We previously did a virtual fabricator roundtable series in April, and the conversation was really interesting. There's a lot to talk about now, and fabricators are facing unique issues like:

  • Shortages of labor in the field due to stay-at-home orders

  • Shop drawing delays from engineers because offices are closed and many are working from home

  • Delays in certain "hot zone" regions because trucking companies won't deliver to those areas

  • Managing stay-at-home orders and essential business determination for each state

  • Setting up office employees to work remotely

  • Managing employee fear, keeping them engaged and coming to work

  • How to enforce social distancing in the shop to minimize the risk of someone getting sick

We've scheduled several roundtable discussions in May and June in order to accommodate a variety of schedules. Find out how you can join us for one of them here.
