The University of Wyoming and the Short Span Steel Bridge Alliance (SSSBA) are teaming up to offer a free six-part live-lecture series, Steel Bridge Education Lectures: From Concept to Delivery, that covers designing, fabricating, and constructing steel bridges.
With more than 56,000 structurally deficient bridges nationwide and a multi-year trillion-dollar surface transportation bill currently being considered in Congress, educated bridge workers are in high demand. This course is designed to prepare students with the knowledge and innovative solutions to repair and replace steel bridges around the country in the years to come.
Michael Barker, PE, PhD of the University of Wyoming, who has over 30 years of experience in bridge design and construction, will teach the course. All registered participants who successfully complete it will receive a certificate of completion from the University of Wyoming.
Steel Bridge Education Lectures: From Concept to Delivery will run from February 23 to March 11, 2021. Lectures will take place Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. EDT and can be viewed in real time or asynchronously.
