Kathleen Dobson, safety director for Alberici Constructors (whose fabrication division, Hillsdale Fabricators, is an AISC member) and a member of the AISC Safety Committee, has been appointed to serve on the National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health (NACOSH).
The purpose of NACOSH is to advise, consult with, and make recommendations to the Secretary of Labor and the Secretary of Health and Human Services in regards to the administration of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) of 1970. Dobson has joined the 12-member committee as a safety representative for a two-year term.
Dobson has worked in the construction industry for more than 20 years and is an advocate for workplace safety efforts and women’s representation in the construction building trades. She will present at NASCC: The Virtual Steel Conference 2021 on hazards for worker illness in steel fabrication and erection.
