Denver Central Library

The main entrance hall of the Denver Central Library got a major glow-up thanks to structural steel!

The AECOM design team coordinated the modernization of this national historic landmark, including remodeling existing bridges in the main hall, adding monumental staircases, and modifying the building frame to create an event space.

As a perk of the bridge and staircase revamp, library visitors have better sightlines--and new viewing platforms!--for the second- and third-floor murals painted by Edward Ruscha in 1996.

Assemble a view of the library’s main hall with our puzzle of the week, and while you’re at it, read more about this stunning steel renovation at aisc.org/building-beyond-books!
