Madawaska-Edmundston Bridge

Madawaska-Edmundston Bridge

The new Madawaska-Edmundston bridge has some of Maine’s longest steel girder structure spans--a whopping 315 ft!

This U.S.-Canada crossing is nearly twice as long as its predecessor, another steel bridge dating back to 1921, in order to link an existing Canadian port of entry with a new U.S. land port of entry across the St. John River at a 45-degree angle.

See a close-up of one of the massive girders of this bridge when you assemble our puzzle of the week. Then learn more about the coordination behind this fast-tracked project at aisc.org/steelingtime.
