National Purple Heart Hall of Honor Jigsaw Puzzle National Purple Heart Hall of Honor A new addition to the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor uses weathering steel to help convey the gravity of the sacrifice and valor of America’s bravest military heroes. The 12,000-sq.-ft addition features a bead-blasted exterior to complement the rough-hewn cedar cabins that have stood on the site since the Revolutionary War. It’s particularly fitting, as Gen. George Washington established the Badge of Merit (the precursor to the Purple Heart) while camped there.
