Williams Crossing

Williams Crossing

A new Tulsa, Okla. pedestrian bridge is a structural first for the U.S.!

Designed as an homage to Robert Maillart’s 1933 Schwandbach Bridge in Switzerland, Williams Crossing is the first deck-stiffened plate-arch structure and first multi-span, plate-arch bridge in the country. The designers used weathering steel plate for aesthetics, flexibility, and offsite prefabrication, allowing for easier installation over the Arkansas River.
