How to Register
The designated booth coordinator for your company will receive an access code and instructions via email on January 15, 2018. It is the responsibility of this individual to register all participants from the exhibiting company for The Steel Conference. For assistance, contact contact Maggie Liston at firstname.lastname@example.org or 312.670.7019.
Note: Designated booth coordinators are NOT automatically pre-registered for the conference. If the booth coordinator plans on attending the conference, they must register themselves in addition to their colleagues.
Exhibitors are entitled to three complimentary full registrations for the first 100 square feet of exhibit space, and one complimentary full registration for each additional 100 square feet of exhibit space. Sponsors typically receive additional complimentary registrations (to sign up for sponsorship today, please contact Elizabeth Purdy at email@example.com). All other persons from your exhibiting company will be charged a flat discounted registration fee of $95.00 per person.
As part of our show services, we offer an exclusive registration site, called Exhibitor Management Console (EMC), that has been individualized for your company to reflect your appropriate number of complimentary registrations. If you have questions about that allocation, please contact Maggie Liston at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The complimentary exhibitor registrations, and the discounted $95 exhibitor registration fee, include the following:
- Entrance to all functions held in the Exhibit Hall (Wednesday Welcome Lunch, Thursday and Friday Coffee Breaks and Thursday and Friday Boxed Lunches)
- Entrance to all technical sessions except for the Short Courses
Badges and Tickets
Upon your arrival to The Steel Conference, please bring your registration confirmation, or your handheld device/mobile phone with the included barcode, to the Exhibitor Registration desk within the convention center. There you will be provided with all of your badge materials, as well as your complimentary conference bag.
- Badges will not be mailed in advance of the conference.
- Although lunch tickets are included in your complimentary registration, and the discounted $95 exhibitor rate, you MUST add the lunch tickets to your registrations to receive tickets. This is essential so that we know exactly how many lunches to provide. Lunches are not ordered and lunch tickets are not provided for you unless you add them to each registration
Rather than offering a Welcome Reception at the end of the day on Wednesday, we’re opening the exhibit hall early and featuring lunch in the hall. Of course, we’ll still have our amazing conference dinner on Thursday night.
More Keynote Sessions
There will be three keynote sessions—one each day. The first is a general topic designed to engage the audience and will feature Dan Goods, a visual strategist for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab. The second will feature a presentation from the top-rated speaker from the last decade of The Steel Conference—Duane Miller, PE, ScD. manager, engineering services and welding design consultant at Lincoln Electric. The third is the 2018 T.R. Higgins lecture, presented by 2018 award winner Robert J. Connor, a professor at Purdue University School of Engineering.
Earn More PDHs
The conference offers participants 16 PDHs plus an additional 4 PDHs if they attend the optional short course.
With so many seminars running concurrently, it can be tough to select the one that’s right for you. We’ve created tracks (or groupings) to help you find the seminars most interesting to you. We don’t require you to preregister for specific tracks and we encourage you to explore a wide range of seminars, including the 13 sessions at the SSRC Annual Stability Conference and the 26 sessions at the World Steel Bridge Symposium.
National Student Steel Bridge Competition
On Wednesday in the exhibit hall you’ll be able to witness student teams from the National Student Steel Bridge Competition assembling their bridges. If you’ve never attended one of these exciting events, you’re in for a surprise!
The exhibit hall will open at 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Please have your booth completely setup by 10:00 a.m. View the schedule for more information.
Exhibitor Service Kit
Booth coordinators will receive an email from CustomerSupport@FreemanCo.com mid-January with instructions to access our online exhibitor service kit provided by Freeman.
Please use the materials in our Marketing Kit to help promote your participation and increase your presence so your target audience can find you before, during, and after the show.
Invite your current and potential customers to learn more about your best products and unique expertise through our exhibitor workshops at The Steel Conference! Exhibitor workshops provide an opportunity for our exhibiting companies to promote and/or sell a product and/or service to our attendees. These face-to-face sessions are an increasingly popular way for exhibitors to make a big impression. More information on how to reserve your spot at one of our two workshops, coming soon!
Product demos are 30 minute presentations on the exhibit floor that provide exhibitors with a high-value live marketing opportunity to showcase products, techniques, and/or services. More information on how to schedule a product demo coming soon!
Plan an event in conjunction with The Steel Conference
As the premier educational and networking event for the structural steel industry, The Steel Conference presents a prime opportunity for exhibitors and affiliates to hold meetings. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity! We ask that we are made aware of your plans and that no events are scheduled during any official The Steel Conference activities. To assist with your planning, you can reference our contact list.

You will recieve an email in early 2018 with more details.
Pre and Post Conference List of Participants
As a benefit to our exhibitors, a modified list of registered conference participants will be emailed to designated exhibiting personnel four weeks and two weeks prior to The Steel Conference, and approximately 30 to 45 days following the close of the conference. Note: At the time of registration, participants are given the chance to opt out of being included on such lists.
In recent years, a number of exhibitors have informed AISC of conference list solicitations (often fraudulent) from groups with no affiliation to The Steel Conference. We encourage you to disregard any offers for participant lists and avoid providing information to anyone outside of AISC.
