Students Connecting with Industry Sessions (SCIS)
At Students Connecting with Industry Sessions (SCIS) on Thursday, April 4 at The Steel Conference, students will have the opportunity to hear career insights from distinguished construction industry and design professionals, connect and interact with leading industry experts, and mingle with other like-minded students. SCIS is organized in cooperation with SE Solutions.
AISC Student Members are eligible for free registration which includes the following:
- All Technical Sessions (Wednesday through Friday)
- Entrance to the Exhibit Hall (Wednesday through Friday)
- Exhibit Hall Coffee Breaks
For attending SCIS, AISC Student Members will receive:
- A complimentary ticket to Thursday night's Conference Dinner (ticket issued at the close of Direct Connect)
- Lunch on Thursday (while attending SCIS)
- Up to $175 in travel assistance from AISC (Travel Reimbursement policies below)

Afternoon Session | Thursday, April 4, 2019
Students will have the opportunity to hear career insights and important lessons learned from two distinguished construction industry and design professionals. This two-part session will provide upcoming graduates with unique perspectives on the professional world that they are about to enter.

Students who attend the SCIS Afternoon Session will be provided with lunch on Thursday.
Direct Connect | Thursday, April 4, 2019
1:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
Ever wish you could grab a cup of coffee with the top designers of the leading structural engineering firms? At this event, students will have the opportunity to connect and interact with leading industry experts from design and construction companies around North America in a relaxed setting. While most firms at this event may not be hiring, this is a great opportunity to meet significant designers and make key contacts at major firms.
AISC Student Members who attend the SCIS program will be eligible to receive up to a $175 reimbursement.
While at SCIS, you will receive an expense form to log your hotel, travel and meal costs. You must either attend the Afternoon Session or Direct Connect session to receive an expense form at the end of the SCIS program. Receipts are required for reimbursement.
Complete the form with your expense information and submit the form with copies of all of your receipts. Approximately, 4-6 weeks following the conference, upon approval by AISC, you will receive a check. View our expense guidelines for the complete list of what's included.
You must be an AISC Student Member to receive reimbursement.
