CHICAGO - The AISC Education Foundation and its industry partners will award $161,000 to students in architecture, engineering, and construction fields for the 2020-2021 academic year.

The scholarships will support 37 college juniors, seniors, and masters’-level graduate students studying civil engineering, architectural engineering, construction engineering, construction management, and architecture at schools in the United States.

“We received applications from so many outstanding students who have achieved so much during their academic careers so far and show so much promise for how much they can achieve for themselves and the steel industry in the future,” said AISC Director of Education Christina Harber, SE, PE. “It is vital that we support these highly-motivated students who have a passion for steel.”

There is a lot of need for emergency scholarships right now--many students are unable to continue their studies without additional funding. In fact, 20% of students informed that there might be additional emergency aid available from the AISC Education Foundation submitted requests within the first 24 hours.

The Foundation is trying to raise funds to help 30 additional students just like these winners stay in school during the current economic crisis. We’re asking people who are in a position to contribute to help us offer urgent relief to students as other funding sources dry up. The 30x30 Challenge ends October 22.
