CHICAGO - Registration is now open for AISC's Flash Steel Conference, which is designed to give busy professionals the technical and business information they need--fast.

The Flash Steel Conference, October 18 to 20, is a virtual event that features 20 insightful half-hour sessions whose impact far exceeds the time commitment. Participants can earn up to 10 PDHs.

"Smart businesses rely on the latest information to compete in a crowded marketplace," said AISC Senior Director of Education Christina Harber, SE, PE. "The Flash Steel Conference is designed to deliver critical, actionable insights that fit into peoples' busy schedules."

The time slots may be small, but the names are big:

• Tackle the brain drain with Carol Post's tips on recruiting and developing the next generation of structural engineers

• Join Robert Otani to consider how to harness the power of A.I. in building design

• Explore the role of material and structural resilience in community recovery with AISC Lifetime Achievement and T.R. Higgins Lectureship Award winner Michel Bruneau

• Draw inspiration from the design teams that tackled unique challenges with innovative projects around the country

• Brush up on delegated connection design, seismic connections, and reinforcing existing connections, and pick up practical connection design ideas from Lifetime Achievement and 2022 NASCC: The Steel Conference Speaker Award winner Carol Drucker

• Learn how to harness the incomparable sustainability and speed of steel in your next project

The Flash Steel Conference features byte-sized registration fees for both individuals and groups.

Individual:

• Member: $250

• Non-member: $500

• Student/faculty: $200

We also offer a group rate for colleagues who work in the same office or location. (This includes colleagues from the same office who are currently working remotely.)

• Member: $750

• Non-member: $1,150

• Student/faculty: $500
