New Supplement to 2016 AISC Prequalified Seismic Moment Connection Standard Available as a Free Download

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CHICAGO - Supplement No. 2 (ANSI/AISC 358s2-20) to the 2016 version of the AISC standard Prequalified Moment Connections for Special and Intermediate Steel Moment Frames for Seismic Applications (ANSI/AISC 358-16) has been fully integrated into the standard. 

Supplement No. 2 expands the prequalification scope of the SidePlate moment connection (Chapter 11), as well as the Simpson Strong-Tie Strong Frame moment connection (Chapter 12). The complete document is now available for free download at aisc.org/standards.

The new standard has been approved by the AISC Connection Prequalification Review Panel (CPRP) and is ANSI-accredited. ANSI/AISC 358 is an essential companion to the AISC Seismic Provisions (ANSI/AISC 341-16), which outline the requirements for the prequalification of seismic moment connections in Chapter K.
