Next Edition of AISC 370 Available for Public Review

August 16, 2024

A draft of the next edition of the AISC Specification for Structural Stainless Steel Buildings (AISC 370) is now available for public review and comment.

The next edition of AISC 370 will supersede the 2021 version and is anticipated to be finalized in 2025.

In this draft of the standard, the scope of flexural design has been extended to cover singly-symmetric I-shaped members and single angles, and updates have been made to the requirements for determining the shear strength of stainless steel bolts. Requirements have also been added for what to include in design documents and specifications in coordination with the development of another standard, AISC Code of Standard Practice for Structural Stainless Steel Buildings (AISC 313).

The draft will be available as a free download at aisc.org/publicreview between August 16 and September 16, 2024. If you’d prefer to review a hard copy, please contact Martin Downs at downs@aisc.org; there is a $35 nominal charge for printed copies.

Please submit comments using the form provided online or by email to Nathaniel Gonner (gonner@aisc.org) by September 16, 2024, for consideration.
