This standard has been developed by the AISC Connection Prequalification Review Panel in accordance with Chapter K of the Seismic Provisions for Structural Steel Buildings (ANSI/AISC 341-10). The connections have been prequalified for use in special and intermediate steel moment frames without the need for additional testing. The standard currently addresses seven moment connections: Reduced beam section (RBS) Bolted unstiffened and stiffened extended end-plates Bolted flange plate (BFP) Welded unreinforced flange-welded web (WUF-W) Kaiser bolted bracket (KBB) -- patent holder statement here.† ConXtech CONXL connection -- patent holder statement here.† SidePlate connection -- patent holder statement here.† † These connection chapters discuss the possibility that implementation of this standard may require use of subject matter covered by patent rights. The patent holders have filed statements of willingness to grant a license under these rights on reasonable and nondiscriminatory terms and conditions to applicants desiring to obtain such a license. Each statement is linked above.
