Prequalified Connections for Special and Intermediate Steel Moment Frames for Seismic Applications Including Supp. No. 1 and No. 2. (ANSI/AISC 358-10 with ANSI/AISC 358s1-11 and ANSI/AISC 358s2-14) - 2010 has been developed by the AISC Connection Prequalification Review Panel in accordance with Chapter K of the Seismic Provisions for Structural Steel Buildings (ANSI/AISC 341-10). The connections have been prequalified for use in special and intermediate steel moment frames without the need for additional testing. The standard currently addresses seven moment connections:

  • Reduced beam section (RBS)
  • Bolted unstiffened and stiffened extended end-plates
  • Bolted flange plate (BFP)
  • Welded unreinforced flange-welded web (WUF-W)
  • Kaiser bolted bracket (KBB)
  • ConXtech CONXL connection
  • SidePlate connection

These connection chapters discuss the possibility that implementation of this standard may require use of subject matter covered by patent rights. The patent holders had filed statements of willingness to grant a license under these rights on reasonable and nondiscriminatory terms and conditions to applicants desiring to obtain such a license. See the current standard for these documents.
