Fabricated by Zalk Josephs Fabricators, LLC (AISC Member, AISC Certified), Apple Michigan Avenue is a new retail store, situated prominently along the Chicago River and North Michigan Avenue, famously known as "The Magnificent Mile". The structure is highly integrated with the architecture, reflecting the close collaboration of numerous specialist teams to create an elegant, minimal design. Structural steel was employed extensively on this project. A significant portion of the project was constructed of wide flange shapes, hollow structural sections (HSS), and built-up sections.
