Autodesk University Session focuses on Future Trends in Steel Construction

The AU 2014 Conference is coming up December 2-4 in Las Vegas. Organized by Autodesk University, the conference provides design and engineering professionals with advanced software training and presentations on industry technologies and innovations, as well as networking functions and an exhibit hall.

If you’re planning to be there, be sure to attend the “Future Trends in Steel Construction” session (MSF7141), presented by Luke Faulkner, AISC’s director of technology integration. Attendees will learn how the structural steel industry is integrating technology to revolutionize the structural steel supply chain.

AISC is leading the structural steel industry in forming strategic initiatives focused on select areas of the industry to apply technological solutions such as: Model Review and Approval, steelXML (a better way to buy steel), and Automating Steel Fabrication. These initiatives, known as BIMsteel, together form our overall interoperability strategy that will greatly impact the design, fabrication and delivery of structural steel in the U.S.

The presentation will be held on Monday, December 1, from 3:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. in Breakers 1, level 2.

The conference is open to anyone interested in attending. For more information and to register, visit http://au.autodesk.com. To learn more about BIMsteel, visit www.aisc.org/bimsteel.
